engine grill
The engine grill on my race car weighs 7-9 lbs...ugh!
Do you know of anyone who makes a lightweight fiberglass one ... preferably just the frame allowing one to use a lighter weight mesh. I thought I saw one once, not the best of fit and finish but with a race car who cares. thanks, Tom B. |

I haven't seen or heard of a a fiberglass engine lid. But, inn addition to making 914-6GT lids with or without a lightened cross brace, I also make a light weight "racer" lid. The "racer" lid deletes the cross brace, torsion bars, hinges and latch. Let me know if this would work for you. Here's some pics: ![]() ![]() ![]()

Sheridan advertises a fiberglass engine lid for 200, no pics and have never seen one before...

There's a fg engine lid with one of the race cars being stored at my shop.
Not sure of the source.
