Where are they now?
I've read that there was almost 119,000 914-4 and 914-6's made (including the GT's) and that 75% of this production went to the USA, which would mean that there were 89,250 914's sold in the USA.
Canada has about 10% of the population of the US so doing the math we should have had sales of some 8920 cars. The part of Canada I live in has 10% of the population here. So there should have been 892 cars sold here. I know where the 2 are, in my back yard. ![]() Does anyone have a breakdown of sales figures by state and province?

I read somewhere that Porsche has 60-65 % of it's sales in the PRofCa. That being the case, the rest of us'n get..... say 40%.
Given their prolific rusting capabilities, I would guess that well over half or that 40% (those outside CA.....places that have rain and salt.....er snow)have succumbed to rendering (shudder).......now we're looking at maybe 15% of the total. Of that....from what I read on the net, less than half of the remainder actually run. ![]() Soooo.......we share ( by my admittedly WAGs) somewhere around 7% of the total production.......by my calcumulations....6300 running cars.....give or take a few.....and that is optimistic, me thinks. The state of WA has about 2% of the population is the US of A ......leaving the GWN out of this for a bit.....sorry.....thus we in WA should have about 126 of these.....sounds about right.

Sounds about right JP, I have seen at PCA, around town (Seattle), Sovern events, WAG close to 50-60 different cars over the last 7 years.

In the '70s 914s were a very common site in the Midwest. Unfortunately, however, the rust factor can not be overemphasized.
My first 914 , bought in 1976, had mild rust after its first winter, serious rust after its second--even though preventative measures were taken. Most of the cars originally delivered here and in the great white north have been swept up into dustpans by now.... ![]()
