Unknown Wheel Redux 1 Attachment(s) Ok, I've posted shots of my wheels before but they were painted black and a bit hard to recognize, so I'll give it one mre try. I have removed the paint and polished one of them (to see if I like the effect, and I have to say that they do look better, have to try one on the car now.) These wheels came with the car and I have had many people ask where they came from, and I have to stand there like a doofus and say 'I dunno.' Someone out there has to have come across these before. I can't be the only one in the USA, can I? Thanks for trying all! |

I had a set on my car for about 10 years and I bought them new in 1979. Mine were by American Racing in Ca. but they were also sold under the Shelby name. They are a copy of the wheels that came on the Sunbeam Tiger in the 60's. They were big with the VW Bug crowd. Mine had a 1/2" positive offset over my stock steel wheels so the rears were real tight up against the fenders. Go to my member's page (link below) for a photo of my car with these wheels. |

1 Attachment(s) I have seen those wheels on about a half dozen cars and mine aren't those. A friend of mine called his 'Dan Gurney' wheels and they have a curvature to the spokes that my wheels don't and a much flatter and shallower center. I think a 3/4 shot might show the difference. |

Sorry about that. You are right, you'rs are different than mine. I thought the hub was different but couldn't tell with that overhead shot. I have never seen those before. |
