1973 1.7L Intake Manifold Hoses

Since these are basically extinct where or what can I use to replace them? Mine are oil and gas soaked and in real need of replacement. Can anybody out there give me some suggestions?

I would try a local NAPA store and try to match up your intake hose I.D. to their bulk neoprene hoses. We have 2 on the shelf, but you'll need 2 more.

Sorry

Go to a local auto parts store that specialized in aircooled VWs. Mine had all the hoses in metric sizes at about 30% of the price that Pelican charges.

Did DaveD ever change his hose diagram to the actual sizes that people sell instead of the stretched sizes people have ??

I don't think that's an excuse to jack up the price 300%. Would you buy brake pads from them for $150 instead of $50 just because they might give you trouble shooting advice?

I also used chuck's page as a reference. It's much a much better color coded diagram if you have a 2L.

FWIW, I've put many of my 914 dollars in Pelican's coffers and will continue to do so when they are price competitive.

I agree. shipping to the East Coast also kills the deal for me. I usually stock up on that stuff at the next VW show. valve cover gaskets, oil change kits, fuel and vacuum line, spark plugs, cap and rotor, plug wires, oil pressure sender, clutch disks, window cranks( I think they are like a buck...) fuses, ...Sorry PP.

Anthony,

have you tried looking for intake runner boots for a 1.7?? The part hasn't been available for at least 10 years (part #022-133-241B). Your local VW shop will try to sell you part number 039 133 241. These boots fit 1.8 and 2.0 applications and the I.D. is too big to fit.

Nope, never looked for those since I have a 2L. In any case I thought we were talking about the garden variety vacuum hoses in metric sizes.
