Road racing

Now that I have your attention
Just finished watching Winston Cup qualifying and was wondering how these cars would fare against our "P" cars on a road course. Not my teener of course but maybe GT2 911's or Mark Andersons 928?
The Pole was something like 70 seconds.
AND IT IS ALL RACING

A couple of years ago there was a NASA sanctioned circuit race in Tijuana (yes TJ) and in the main "open" feature there was a twin turbo Porsche monster that lead the whole race, but right on his butt for the whole thing was a NASCAR Winston cup car and they ran off from everyone else! If I remember correctly a lap or two from the end the brakes started to go away on the WC car and he slowed some but it was really great for a show! Brakes seem to be the weak point as I talked to several of the Historic Stock Car drivers at the HSR race at the CA Speedway and they got to use the big road course and loved it till the brakes went soft!

800 or so HP in a 3400 lb. car vs. 350 or even 450 HP in a 2500lb. car. You do the math. Give those WC guys more than the 9.5 inch spec wheel and it wouldn't even be a contest.

Uhhhh, isn't the radiator there to cook the mash?

Ya'll can tell how fast the WCC is by the length of the tobacco stripes down the side of the car, tho with the additon of nets, the driver has to be a little more accurate.

Notice how the commentators think that black stuff on their in car camera lens is rubber?

Spitooooie!
