San Antonio salvage yards??
Any parts places of interest in/near San Antonio, TX? I'll be there in early Sept and might have a few hours to poke around.

Pic-n-pull on the south side. I used to get all kinds of VW parts there. I would call first to check availabilty. It's great, you pay a small fee and just walk around and pull the parts off. Then pay for them when you leave. Just watch out for the rattlers!

914 yards
The only place in Sa to get any 914 parts is a place called Southside Auto parts. They have at least 10-15 914's at all times.

Actually, the 914 is a "Poor Man's Porsche". You buy one and you end up poor...Or it ends up covered with Por 15? Either way, something's poor... |

My local Pick and Pull won't even tell me if they have a 914 or any Porsche on the lot. You have to pay the $2 and go look. For those of you that go to places like Pick and Pull regularly, how do you deal pulling big parts that might require more than hand tools? Do they supply engine hoists? Jacks? Say you bring your own big tools - will they let you drive them to the car?
