Wider 4-Bolt Fuchs
Is it possible to have the 4-Bolt Fuchs widened by a "custom wheel master". I thought I'd heard about this sort of thing before. Anyone have any more details, maybe prices? It'd be neat to have 6.5" or 7" wide 4-bolts.

On the rennlist classified section, a guy back east claims to be cutting and welding the 16" Fuchs to make them wider.
I do know that the 16x6 Fuch is normally the size that is cut and has new spun aluminum wheel halfs bolted on. Vipers have this done from the factory, the rear wheels are half of the front wheel welded to widen it. I have also seen Camero IROC rims welded to make them wider. It's been a while since I've recieved the weekly magazine Autoweek, but there used to be an ad for a shop that said they could widen just about any aluminum rim. I'm putting 15x7 widened steel rims on my car, but I'd preffer something a little nicer looking.

Just about anything is possible...
But if I were hell-bent on sticking with a 4-lug setup, and wanted wider wheels, I'd just buy some Panasports or Revolutions or something... As Mueller pointed out, there are shops who can build you a bigger and/or wider wheel with a Fuchs center. Among others, I believe HRE and Kinesis do this, plus the shop in FL whom I think uses BBS rims and Fuchs cores to weld up the desired wheel.
