				Cam ?

When I did my rebuild I went with the 96mm in my 2.0. I ordered a new cam too. I ordered from EBSracing. They seemed both knowledgable & helpful. Here is my question. How aggressive a cam can you use with stock FI. If by chance mine was a little to aggressive what would likely symtems be? All input greatly appreciated. Specs on Cam grinds would be great too!

Not very aggressive at all. Significant overlap will result in lower manifold vacuum and a rich mixture. If you have smog testing you can be in trouble. Low end torque will likely be less, too, and fuel economy will likely suffer. A "hot" cam works well for 914's intended for track use with carbs. To get the full benefit, significant work needs to be done on the heads, and it's probably necessary to use a different exhaust header than the restrictive stock header. For street use, the stock cam is well-matched to the application. Very good low-end torque, and it works well with the stock intake and exhaust systems. | ||
