Thanks for all the rack info.
Continue to wonder if anyone has developed a rack to carry a kayak? The roof mount as described above is questionable because of the targa roof anchors. The trunk mount sounds interesting like to see pics but the kayak length maybe a problem. __________________ This post was auto-generated based upon a question asked on our tech article page here: |
I am not aware of one. I opened a post in our forums. A Pelican community member may be able to answer your question.

kayak
I used to run with a pair of 13.5 foot glass yaks on my 914 roof. I used a very old Yakima rack the kind that clamps to rain gutters on old cars. the rack had two pairs of yak saddles. I tied the ends of the boats to the bumpers, which helped keep the boats and roof on.
I did not like freeway driving this way, but local low speed trips to my local wharf were fine. |
where theres a will theres a way. you could do a hitch mount and a rack off of that. front of the cayak goes on the roof and the back on the rack. ofcourse the hitch mount poses a new problem

There's a picture on 914 World of a canoe on the roof somewhere.
