EFI Trigger Points
I am replacing the EFI trigger points on my '74 2.0 D-jet, and my question is: does the unit just bolt in with no set up or adjustment necessary?
I have looked all through all my books and manuals and have not found anything addressing this. Thanks for any help |
Pretty much, yes. There's very little slop in the installation, so very little room for adjustments.
Ray Greenwood is a big fan of slotting the mounting holes and moving the trigger points around to adjust the timing of the injection events, but for just about everyone else on the planet that is too much bother. Including VW and Porsche. --DD |
Thanks Dave.

Just install them. Use a tiny bit of Bosch dizzy points lube on the points cam. Ray's stuff about positioning the points that DD mentioned is hard to reconcile with fact, I'd ignore it. See my web page for more info.

Brad, awesome site!!!!!!!!!! I just quickly browsed it, man, you spent some serious time putting it together. Thank you !!
Quick question, you talk about a touch of Bosch dizzy lube - is this some special concoction, or is there something else equivalent I can use? |
