914 wins class for year in CSP (SF reg.)
Congratulations to Mike Harris in his ALL914.com sponsored 74 2.0 914 for winning the SF region CSP points championship this past weekend. Mike runs on Hoosiers and was trying out a "donated' factory ZF limited slip for the season finals.
"Mike had already won the season", but I thought I would wait until the season was over. Mike placed consistantly in the top 3 at every event, but blew past the competition when he made the switch to Hoosier AutoX tires. The SF region is no slouch. More than 15 cars would show up for Mikes class including several CSP national champions. I think with mores setup work and more time behind the wheel with the LSD installed, Mike could possibly take the CSP class at Nationals (even though the past champion is in a 200hp RX3) Thanks Mike for a great season. Sounds like you guys had a lot of fun! What size Hoosiers were you running?
|
Class legal 205/50/15's on 7 inch wide wheels.
We have a lot of fun at every event. I wouldnt do this crap if it wasnt fun and gave me some giddy screwed up happy feeling each time one of my "children" does well in their 914. I started Mike off in road racing instead of AutoX like all the "critics" say you should do. He almost took the track record his first time out with the local PCA time trial group with only one day of track experience. We spent last year running SCCA and this year going back to AutoX because of funds... B |
You guy's have all the fun. congrads.

Congrats to Mike -- I still have a copy of his video from last year (T-hill or maybe Laguna).
So how many events are those Hoosier A-series tires good for? I can't imagine the tire bill at $170 a pop if you run thru a bunch of sets per season. |
