I have a 76 2.0. I am trying to get it to pass emmisions for the first time. The engine is newly rebuilt(350 miles), and runs great. The co reading is 7.54% at 15mph and 10.24% at 25mph. The max is 3.79% at 15mph and 3.34% at 25mph. The co2, the o2, the hc, and the no, are well within the limitaions. How can I get the co% down? Adj. the cpu? The pressure sensor? Will the 1.7 and 2.0 pressure sensors interchange? Also is there an on-board co guage I can install in the car. Where can I get one. Any help to any of these questions is much appreciated.

The only exhaust measurment readily available is the O2 sensor which you can get as a kit and weld the boss to one of the collectors. It tells how close to an ideal mixture you have. I thought 1976 cars had the air pump? Make sure all the parts are working correctly, as when we do our 1974 we have to swap parts sometimes to get everything in spec. There is an earlier post by Dave D. and he tells what readings are affected by which emissions gizmos, it should be on this site somewheres.

i have seen a site with the schematic for an exhaust gas analyzer. i think your 75 exhaust could have a fitting for an O2 sensor. the analyzer displays mixture readings by LED's. looked buildable. my mechanic adjusted the pressure sensor (74) to get close. valve lash made the biggest difference in all things tried. idle still oscillates but runs very good! i've read pressure sensor has greatest affect on emissions controls/mixture controls.
