alternator wire terminal at VR connector replacement
Silly question really.
How can I replace the female connectors inside the plastic terminal end of the alternator harness at the voltage relay without destroying the plastic terminal? I can't figure out how Porsche put them in. Cheers, Tom |

I'm guessing you mean at the relay board. There's a tab on each connector. You pit a very small flat blade screwdriver down the recess on the flat side of the brass connector and push the tab toward the connector. Once the tab is bent back, the connector will pull out the back of the housing. It's important that you use the same type and size non-insulated connector when you replace the old one. If you don't, they won't lock into place. Beyond that, the insulated type don't really fit into the housing. If the problem is simply loose fit, you can bend the rolled side of the connector to give you a tighter fit on the tab.
