So are you talking about tire dollies, that you put under each tire and it lets you roll the car around, or an actual lift? You can get 2 pairs of tire dollies at Harbor Freight for around a hundred bucks.

BenPak, very nice product. Works great with 914 and 993 Porsche's, and a few VW. Mark

Lifting, lots of options. Rolling it around once it is lifted. haven't seen anything that can do that, and that I would trust to be stable enough, other than maybe a full sized fork lift.

I think is was $1,800 delivered. Not the cheapest, but one of the best scissor type. All are made in china even the BenPak. Larger BenPak (two post) are US made with highest standards. I've had it for five years, lots of auto work, timing belts, transmissions, brakes, works just great. When it lowers into the floor I do have a cover for it so I can drive over it. Also works great for an additional 4 foot by 8 foot work bench when up. Mark

Arrow maxjax lift

discussed a bizillion times on all the forums - just google maxjax

mine cost $1800 delivered - you once could get them from COSTCO

It is perfect for 914 engine changes - nothing in the way - no rails, no scissors to work around

- and when you are done, just unbolt it & move it aside so the wife can get into the garage again

p.s. - my slab is 5" - 5-sack - and wire reinforced

scissor lifts are kinda useless in my opinion. If you are going the MaxJax route, make sure your slab is thick enough to support it.
