Oil cooler help/suggestions
I'm trying to "design" a front mount oil cooler setup for my car. It's a 2.0L-4. I don't have any problem getting a cooler core, but I do have some issues with the hoses and stuff like that. My question is what kinda/size of hoses should I use? I internet priced my setup for just the lines, and adapters, using -10 AN lines, it came up to about $320, which includes 20ft of line. I think the price is pretty steep, as I am on a budget. Add in the $100 cooler, thermostat and spin on things, I'm looking at a $500+ cooler.
I also checked out rubber lines too, but the price seems to be only slightly cheaper, where I would rather spend the extra $ and use steel lines. Is there somewhere i can get steel braided lines and connectors for a good price? I really want to do a front mount, so long lines are needed. Are there any other suggestions on how I should install and what to purchase to make the cost less? any help is appreciated. thanks! Terrance |

Terrance,
just stop by my Palo Alto shop tomorrow or Thursday. I can show you how to do this 3-4 different ways. I'm 2 blocks from the Palo Alto Fry's. B |

what time do you open? I'll probable be rolling up in my rice rocket Civic if you don't mind. the 914 is somewhat gutted, and being spot welded up to repair the rust.
Also, what's the address? |

Krispy cream is 1 exit down the freeway.
In and Out is located within a 400 feet of the Krispy cream. Starbucks is 4 blocks away. You cannot beat having a Fry's this close. I'm going to hate being at SSI full time with NO Fry's close by. B |

Argh! Make it stop! Oh, you're moving.... gosh, that is too bad
![]() That would be a *perfect* location if it had a McMenamins on the block.... Scott 20 minutes to Fry's ![]() less than 5 min to a McMenamins http://www.mcmenamins.com/ ![]() ...I could take some time off the trip to Fry's if I drive the 914.... |

Damn...that is definitely a sweet setup.
Of course I have all that stuff nearby here too; except for the cheap enormous shop/warehouse space with roller doors and fully plumbed for power and air...that place is friggen huge
