Kienzle VDO refurb

Hi All,

I am starting on my 1973 914 appearance group restoration.
I have done a lot of research on the gauges and 2 of the 3 came with the car.
Those being temp and voltage. Both have been taken apart and the faded hands refreshed and dirty glass lenses cleaned.
I found a Kienzle online correct number and all to round out the third gauge.
It also needed some work.
I have had the fuse/connection piece micro soldiered, just like the pelican article stated that was the problem for non operation. From an esthetic stand point the plastic lense is beat up and scratched, with some small cracks around the dial opening. I cannot find a tutorial online that shows how to separate the wind up device from the lense so it can be replaced. Anyone have any experience with this. I don't want to force the little plastic end piece with the spring between it and the plastic to where I break it and it can't be repaired.
Thanks in advance for any input and feedback that anyone has.

Gary
