RX-7 Oil Cooler Help
I am putting in an Rx7 oil cooler and need to know which of the fittings is the inlet and which one is the outlet, if it matters. I still have the stock thermostat in the cooler and a thermostat in the sandwich plate.
I saw a link to a page a few months ago that showed the different RX7 coolers but I can not find it now. Unless I hear differently, I think that I will go into the lower fitting and out of the upper one. Thanks |

This topic comes up quite often on the 911 board. Apparently there is an internal thermostat you have to remove. This thread should get you started: Radiator-style Carrera oil coolers

That would be my cooler being discussed.
I didn't put it in, so I have no idea if it has a flow direction. Given I was told it has a pressure limiter in it, it may well have a specific flow requirement. Cam

I am very interested in this as well. I read the attached link/thread and have a couple of (hopefully) easy questions....
1. What year rx-7 has the appropriate cooler? 2. Is changing the AN fitting size a requirement or can you use the cooler "as is" (this is for a 4 cyl application) 3. Can someone explaing the internal pressure limiter feature and it's benefits/pit falls? Thanks! Scott S
