Looking for some 3.6 flywheel knowledge. There's a 3.6 to 901 flywheel for sale on e-bay (item #1870910429) and I need to know if this flywheel will support DME? I don't see an emitter ring on it, but does it support the addition of an emitter ring??? Thanks in advance for any info you could provide.

That looks like the Flywheel I used on my 3.0 conversion.
Not sure what pickup you need for the 3.6 DME or how it would attach. I would check with KEP and see what they want for a complete clutch kit with everything that you need. With the 3.6 you want to go with a 9 inch clutch which is what I used the add does not say how big a clutch it will take ...........

What is the DME ring and where or how is it mounted

It is a specific toothed ring that attaches to the flywheel or is part of the flywheel. (I forget which it is on the 3.6 911 engines.) The teeth in the wheel trigger a signal in a magnetic pickup that is mounted to the tranny bellhousing or to the flywheel end of the motor. This tells the engine management system where in the rotation the crank is, and lets it figure out when to inject fuel and initiate spark and so on.
It is either part of the flywheel itself, or it is bolted on. As I said, I forget which. It is separate from the teeth that engage the starter. --DD

DME "teeth" are on the flywheel. They (KEP) sells a bolt on starter ring gear to the 915 DME flywheel that makes it work with the 914 bellhousing and properly locates the pressure plate for the 901 throw out bearing.
Normally the ring gear bolts to the front of the pressure plate for the 915 tranny and pull clutch (914 is push clutch, throw out bearing pushes on the pressure plate) The 915 throw out bearing pulls on the pressure plate. B |
