Ride Height

I own a 1976 914 2.0l fuel injected car, I love it and it's my first 914. My question is my drivers side sits higher in both the front and rear than of the passengers side. Now the drivers side front and rear heights match as well as the passengers front and rear match. Is there adjustments I can make to get this car to sit level all around ?

Did you check the height with the driver in the car? Most of the Porsche shops and alignment shops in the San Diego area that do Porsches say to set ride height loaded. At any rate, the front is adjusted with the bolt at the rear end of the torsion bar on each side, back it out will lower the car. The rear (on ours, Bilsteins) is set by the spring mounts on the shocks. I have to compress the spring, move the mount and check the height. I would also get the alignment ( 4 wheel) checked after you are finished to prevent excessive tire wear or handling problems.

The best way is to have your '14 corner balanced and aligned by a shop that has had a reputation working on old Porsches. Not everyone can do it right. Ask me how I know.....I ended up driving 100 miles to Torrance CA, to find the right guy.

Once done right, it was night and day on the track and street. I improved three seconds on my favorite course and I am now competeing for the PCA Zone 8 championship.

You might want to post a request for assistance for anyone living up in Oregon and knowing a good shop.

Good Luck.
