I have one in my 74 914-6, installed by the PO. It must have an extra lite bulb in there because it is much brighter than my 75 1.8, which has the stock gauge.

North Hollywood has a conversion they do where they put the oil pressure gauge at the bottom of the Tach right where your eye will see it. I have found that you have to kind of look around the steering wheel with it mounted in the fuel gauge location.
They also have a lite kit that they put in your gauges, that REALLY lites them up. Cost @$180 for 911 not sure on 914.

Try www.nhspeedometer.com I think you will need to call them for more info on the lite kit.
