74 2.0 Dimmer Relay

Hi,

Physically where on the car should I look for the dimming relay mentioned in the wiring diagram? Item J for those with the wiring diagram in front of them. It doesn't sound like it's one of the ones in the fuse box.

Thanks, Steve

The hi/lo beam relay is on the fuse plate. If you remove the two screws that hold the plate and lower it down, it's the boxy silver can on the lower right hand side. It is NOT one of the familiar round relays used for various systems on the 914.

Can somebody post a picture of the backside of the fuse panel? On my 73, last time I looked, the turn signal relay was just dangling around. Is that how it’s supposed to be?

It's not there, but there are a bunch of spare wires that just happen to match the colours of the wiring diagram.

I connected the red to the yellow and then the white. Lo and behold the lights came on! And it's only a simple changeover relay I'm missing so it's cheap.

Thanks.

Steve
