front Combo turn signal lights?
I would like to make the turn signal lights up front a combo unit.
I was wondering if anybody has a digital picture that would show the detail on how the combo light is set up. I know that there are kits that sell for about thirty bucks each but I would think I could build them for a lot less. I already have the lense covers, I just need a couple of lamp holders and a wire diagram to do it. Has anybody out there done this them selves? |
Sure have, I love mine. They work perfect. Don't know how I was able to live without them. They make my 914-4 feel like a 914-6. My car is now worth thousands of dollars more.

I am in the process of writing a tech article on the procedure.
The only thing I would do different (afterthought) is to add a curvature on the outside edge of the metal I cut to butt up against the lense (i.e., match the curvature of the lense). Here is a link to what I've done so far... cost me about $10 http://www.iepg.com/914/turnsignal The article isn't quite complete, but you get the idea. Regards, |
Hey Craig,
Did you quit making your kit? $30 or so wasn;t it? Well worth the time saved (for me anyway). |
The Original CAMP 914 euro front turn signal kits are still $30 shipped to your door, and as always money back if not satisfied.

I have the CAMP 914 conversion kit and have since referred many to Craig's package due to the easy of installation and affordability. Helps save time AND money.
Thanks again, Craig. BTW when are you coming up next? I need to find a new lid (rear) before you come up with the trunk shock kit. Didn't you have a lead on one? Short term memory loss ;-) SmileWavy |
Hey K. Thanks for the referrals. I do have a few rear lids. Not sure when I am coming up right now,but I think before years end. When I come up we will install one of the rear trunk shox kits.
As soon as I know for sure when I am up that way I will let you know. Thanks Again.. Craig C. Laughlin CAMP 914 |
Thanks Kellzey for the info. I think I will make my own and save the $40 bucks so I can buy a boxter someday. I am sure the kit offered is worth it guys, but I enjoy doing these projects myself. Thanks for the help.

I have the CAMP kit, it works great. Could I have made a similar setup by myself for less. Possibly. But I doubt it would be engineered as well, and when you consider that time is money, $30 for it is really cheap in comparison to the time it would take to design it, find the parts, and do the install.

My post wasn't an attempt to thwart the CAMP kit. I've heard it's a great, and I've seen the pics!.
What's your time worth? It took me 2-3 hours to do it all (plus shop for the parts, measure, etc.). If you've got the time, have fun, if you wanna plug and play, by the CAMP conversion kit. Regards, |
