Exhaust Paint
From previous postings on this forum, I saw comments about POR15 paint. I am considering using their high-temperature paints on the exhaust system. Has anyone out there had experience with these products?
Thanks in advance. |

I have not used the hi-temp, but if it as good as the black I used on both our 914s front and back trunks, it is pretty good! On both ours I used the hi-temp paint you can get at most auto parts stores, got rid of the rust with naval jelly and a wire brush, then painted them with several heavy coats, then baked it by running the engine and it is a year old with no rust through.

I have not used the high temp por-15 stuff, only the low temp stuff on trunks and inside and outside of fuel tank. I have heard nothing but good about the POR-15 products and would probably use some of their product on the manifold and exhaust system if I had no other information about other good products.
I have a friend that used to run a car restoration business and he thinks it is the best stuff on the market.... but then I would like to hear if anyone has had a bad experience with POR-15... it seems I have only heard good and that is amazing to me.
