Porsche Tapiro: was this 914-based concept restored?

Back in the early '70s, giugiaro designed a Porsche one off concept car, the Tapiro, and it was in the Los Angeles Auto Show. I heard a rumor that when it was shown in Mexico, the President appropriated it but that may be exaggeration.

A website called FlatSixes , a forumite posts a picture of the burned out wreck saying it was owned by a Spanish industrialist whose workers set fire to it during a wage dispute.

See picture here: What Happened to the Porsche Tapiro

At any rate, somewhere it caught fire and I saw the most amazing picture of Giugiaro and son (Frabrizio) looking at it as a burned out hulk, maybe back at their Italian design studio. I was wondering if it was ever restored and who owned it when it was burned out.

Incidentally Giugiaro and son sold their firm Ital Design to VW so now they work for VW so I can see a case for rebuilding this car...

As you write in your post above, it was owned by the Spanish Industrialist when it was burned. To the best of our knowledge (no one had corrected us yet) the burnt hulk still lies in Giugiaro's museum in Italy. We've had a number of readers tell us they have visited it and seen it themselves.

Lastly, we updated the post to include the picture you mentioned (we've been sitting on it for a while, but thought it might make sense to add to that post).

Just the facts, ma'am

I know it sounds crazy but I would like to know if the fire was indeed caused by a bomb. And what was their beef? Low wages?
Also was the industrialist hurt?
I think it's kind of cool the Giugiaros took it back and if I run into them at the auto show will ask them for an update. The younger Giugiaro, Fabrizio, once invited me to drive some prototypes up at Monterey and I liked the way he didn't care if the cars were driven hard, no worries about road rash, etc.
