180# springs towards one end of the spring, coils are wound closer together. Should they be on top or bottom? Does it matter?

on struts i believe the tighter coils are on bottom. i'm not sure.
had you installed them the same way on each side, with your camber problem?

Chris,
From what I know, they should work either way. Just make sure that both are the same way. IMO, coils closer together on top = softer ride; on the bottom = stiffer ride. Then again with 180 # springs, you wouldn't notice much. I think?!

Does not matter. The spring rate (and the ride) will be the same either way.

putting the tight coils on top would reduce the unsprung mass by a little. If it really doesnt matter, I'd go this way.

I believe those springs are Austrailian, that's why the coils are upside down. No wait, if they were the coils would turn the opposite direction, or does that just apply to the water when you flush?
Sorry. I can't help myself. I agree, doesn't matter. What does matter is that the springs are seated properly in the perches. Some aftermarket springs are shorter and don't like to seat just right. that can make the corner balancing way off. I used zip ties to hold my springs (200#) to the perches s that always sat just right, even after I jacked up the rear of the car. |

Chris, actually you have 2 left handed coils, when you should have 2 right handed coils, or is it 1 left or 1 right? But seriously folks it does it really matter?
