bushing squeeeek!
I've replaced all my front end bushing with new poly(delrin?) bushings and it now squeeks like hell. I've put zerk fittings on all but the A-arm bushings and it seems to make no difference. The noise seems to come mostly from the sway bar bushings, but I can't really tell. What do you guys do about this??? From my Jeep days, I seem to remember guys running anti-seaze compond on the bushings to keep'em quite, anybody tried this??
I can tolerate the noise myself although it kind of emabarassing when going down a bumpy street everyone turns to look at the piece of ***** making all the squeeky noises! Help??? |
Did you put the bushing lubricant on?

That was my thought too. There's a special lube to use on poly bushings. Should solve the problem

They didn't come with any. I'll see if I can get some locally.

Unfortunately, I've never seen the bushing people include it. It's always something that is recommended that you buy with the new bushings by the supplier who sells the bushings. Somebody goofed.

What you're looking for is Weltmeister Plastic Bushing Grease Prelube

Yup, that's the stuff. (Thanks Karl, I couldn't remember who made it - brain fart) I've seen it in the Perf. Prod catalog and I'm sure Pelican will have it.
