OT - Lotus Europa resto update. Ugly...

It's been windy.... The Volvo laughed. The lotus didn't.

Did that car used to be on the blocks of wood above it and to the right?

Hang in there. I love the Europa. This just proves you don't need to build a rotisserie! I just bought two Tamiya 1/24 Europa kits!

Dave, that is a real bummer. I know how much effort you have already put into restoring the 914, and now the Lotus gets flipped....

You were a great help to me when I was looking for a 914. I hate to see this kind of stuff happen to good guys! Can't we have a few rusty hulks blown over in Marietta, GA instead?

Thanks guys. It looked like a big dead frog in my driveway, and I'm still amazed that it happened. At least the tank drained and was easy to remove. Two of us righted it and caged it beside the house, so It can't get away.
The roof is cracked now and there are a few crunches and dents that weren't there before. the worst of it was that one door was sitting in place, but held there only by the latch, I had removed the hinge pin ( door hinges are a problem in lotii) but used the latch to hold the door in place. Well, as the car rolled, the door swung open (pivoting on the latch) and ripped the latch partly out of the body immediately before or while the body landed on to p of the open door. Lots of mangled parts... Its a bummer but really it just means the to do list now has 357 items, up from 345. 'glass can always be repaired.
Mike - make sure you don't use much glue on those kits or they won't be authentic - parts should fall off periodically.
Bob - you know Mike still has that mint special edition 914 in his shop -still in primer, he's been busy all year and going strong.
