master cylinder

I just did my brakes on my 914-6 and they suck.I read all the links about this problem.
HOWEVER I just read my 914 repair book and it is by Lash International and it stated that all Porsches and VW's with disc brakes that the master cylincer for this for the disc brakes has a BLUE band on the body. The one I installed has no such blue band.
Any thoughts on this.
Thx in advance.

Not an expert by any means, but of the 400+, 19mm ATE Master Cylinders we have, not one has a blue band on it (nor have I seen one with a blue band).

This probably didn't help you much.

No blue band on my 19mm and it works great. What kind of problems are you experiencing? mushy peddle, pulling from one side to the other, excessive fadding, etc.
