Winter project

I'm fixen' my car so's it's broke.
Got the rear suspenders off, springs out of the shox....anybody need 140 lb progerssive....Weltmeister sp 140s....look like new...half price. Now I need 200 lb springs.....anybody got?

Took out 6mms worth of shims. Started with about -.7 deg, so this *should* give me 1.7 deg, negative.....hope it's enuff, cause that's all that was on the drivers side

Gotta get some new rear rotors, also.

Took off one side in the front.....gonna do some hacking on the strut mount and body structure to get up to 2 deg negative.
Need about .400 more room to move.....this could get ugly.

I've never taken out T-bars.....but I have a BFH.....also gotta
make a socket for the ball joint nut. A pipe wrench is.....unseemly.

Sounds fun. I need to re-bush my front end, squeeks like somebody's lil' bro's tricycle. I also need to replace the speedo cable. Probably could use new ball joints, but I'll put those off. Oh yea, Turbo tie rods are on the way.

Hey JP

BTDT - 2 chioces pulling that ball joint. Do it while the A-arm is still in the car or take the A-arm out and put it in a vice. The former is the best idea. Get someone to hold the socket on the ball joint while you turn with a LONG cheater bar. Comes right off, but it's a b&^#ch to keep the socket on the ball joint by yourself. If you're making one yourself you might be able to design it better, but...

T-bars come out a lot easier with the A-arm out of the car.

Thanx, Mike.
The A arms are still on and it looks like it's gonna be....interesting.
I recently got a free 3/4 metric socket set, complete with rachet & B-bar. One socket is just the right size to be ground into the shape needed.....nice thing about free.....makes for cheep experiments. Unlike Mueller, I think small.

I have a big freakin' pipe wrench, JIC.

The A arms are coming off. Gotta rebush & do some welding.....don't like the way they are built.

JP, I may be interested in your 140# springs. I'm upgrading over the winter and have reacently started looking for a set.

Incidentally, I did my ball joints last winter, bought the tool from Pelican. I soaked them with Liquid Wrench for about three days straight, then used the ball joint tool with my impact wrench and they spun off so easy it scared me! (I tried without the impact first and had the same results most everyone has)
