group use of dyno shops
While looking for somewhere local to get my car onto a dyno, I stumbled across a chevy club locally who booked the dyno for the club, and everyone could use get spec'd. It sounded great to me. Has anyone been to something like that? I'd like to hear your comments, especially if there's something here in TX I could go to.

You might contact the BMW Car Club region in your area. Its pretty common for them to book a "Dyno Day" a few times a year. Not sure about PCA. Mustang clubs also do it alot.
I know BMWcca will welcome any make at Dyno Days and Drivers Schools. I suspect that Mustang clubs woul as well as long as it isn't a Camaro. :) |
I have gone to the Porsche club dyno days and the local RX7 clubs as well. Its way cheaper to hook up with a club (group rates). They don't spend much time on your car though if you want to tune it. You just get on the dyno and next!

I hadn't thought of the Mustang guys. I fixed up a 66 for my son. I could take his car and mine, expecially if it were a group of classic owners. I'll check the BMW guys too.
It would be great to go with a bunch of guys with similar cars, so there would be immediate comparison of different combinations. And a site where the results could be studied. With all the claims out there, it would be great to have some common reference PD |
