Jumping Volt meter
I've been reading old posts regarding jumping Volt meters, which mine is doing. When I test volts at the battery, I'm posting 14.4. I have new battery cables, battery, and alternator.
The old posts refer to cleaning grounds for the gauge. Excuse the ignorance. Is this referring to the ground on the back of the gauge or somewhere "downstream"? |
Clean everywhere... Chances are you'll still see jumping.

The connection from gauge to ground. Does the gauge jump up or down from the nominal 12V display or from 9 volts?

Hello Sherwood,
It jumps from 12V. What's your thoughts? Quote:

You didn't mention when the meter is jumping but I imagine that it is when the turn signals are on? If so the needle movement is because of where the meter is wired into the system and although Porsche won't admit it, I think it is considered "normal". As long as you have the correct voltage and everything works correctly, I would not worry about it.
