Aftermarket VDO Gas Gauge

I am removing the the gas gauge to add Oil Temp/Oil Pres gauges.

As the 3 combo gauge set no longer available, I need to relocate the gas gauge by using a VDO 2-1/16 gauge.

I understand the 914 sender is not compatible.

Is there a sender available that will work?
or
Any other modification to do to use the VDO gauge?

Ken,

Do a search in this forum for gas gauge. This was discussed in the last week or two and one of the European members gave the gauge and sender info for using an aftermarket VDO fuel gauge with the stock tank. He said it worked fine.

I hate to direct you to AA, but they sell a VDO gas gauge that is compatible with the 914 sender. It's small enuff to fit in the center console if that's what you want. IIRC, bout 30 bucks.

3 Gauge combo

The 3 Gauge combo is still available as a complete gauge from Palo Alto or Northhollywood speedometer. I got one from Palo Alto about 4 months ago for a little over $500 w/oil temp & press senders.

FYI

Hollywood Speedometer calibrated a VDO "Cockpit" series Fuel gauge to match the 914 sender. Total cost $45.00.

The VDO fuel guage that is compatible with the 914 sender is p/n 301 272 052 001, as shown below "for use with dip pipe sender unit."

I use one myself, it works fine - although I have no idea how "adjustable" it is.
