CV joint tool
Who make the tool to remove the CV joint bolts. The manual calls them a cheese head bolt . Who make a tool and what size are they

Technically, any bolts that have a head that is a flat cylinder would be a cheese-head bolt. (The head is shaped like a wheel of cheese, get it?) That is as opposed to hex-head bolts, or screws with curved tops like pan-head screws.
A 12-point Allen wrench is not the right tool. The corners of that will be 120 degrees, while the corners of the correct tool are 90 degrees. (That's why it is sometimes called a "triple-square" tool; the shape is like three squares overlaid on top of each other.) The CV joints use the M8 size triple-square tool. Unless they have been replaced with regular Allen-head bolts. Check your car first, before you buy tools you may not need! --DD |
