Installing a Rear Window Seal
 

Due to the awkward location of the rear window seal that bridges the gap between the rear window and the front part of the engine deck lid, does anyone have some helpful tips on how to install a new one correctly? Photos, video?

i just took needle nose pliers and pulled of old one mine just fell apart dont pry against window new one just pushes on mine was a little long so i had to trim it

I installed mine by removing the rear window and then reinstalling and resealing it. It was worth it, as I needed to clean up some minor rust around the frame which I didn't discover until I did remove the glass.

I thought removing the glass might be the best way. I'm getting ready for paint anyway.

Remove the glass. Clean all surfaces. Reinstallation is really simple with the butyl tape available at any flaps. Use spacers to set the glass up off the bottom a little so it's floating in the frame. Press it in place. It's easy, and it'll be good for another 20 years and you can forget about it.

Here's a good step-by-step: Rear Window Install. What's not mentioned in this procedure, and what I believe Dave recommends as a good trick, is to roll up a couple of old towels and wedge them between the seat headrests and the window overnight to make sure the glass is pressed firmly to the butyl tape.
