Oil Tank Noise
We have a 914/6 and the noise from the oil tank is horrid.
Is this a known fault or are there issues that can cause this problem? The gurgling noise is there all of the time, hot and cold and is really irritating. |

I would guess it is the flow of oil returning to the tank and splashing around inside. What is the oil level? It could also be the oil pump suction being blocked by a shop rag or something similar? I would suggest using a flexible bore scope and looking inside when the engine is running.

If the oil tank is making those noises, you likely have very low oil levels. Recommend an oil change, drain sump and tank and check the amount of oil drained and compare with recommended fill levels (9.5 quarts with filter change).
