Hood/Light Bucket Adjustment

I am getting down my list of sorting out my 914. In looking at the front hood fit the left side is off.I dont like to tweek this and I don't know how to start . I also don't want to make it worse. The light bucket may have to come up and that side of the hood down.

I have the same problem

Nice looking 914. I have the same problem as I sort out my "new" one. When you get an answer, shoot it my way too. Thanks, Dan

The buckets can be adjusted some but the the hood can also be warped by gently bending it. Be careful. You can adjust the buckets so they chip the paint. Best to disconnect the relay that controls the power to the buckets and work the travel manually so you can check it out slowly.

I had problems with the eye brows, rubber buttons not holding in correct place. I welded up some small brackets that bolt the eye brows in place once adjusted. Worked great. I would adjust the hood first to fenders...then head light buckets to both....then eye brows last. Best, Mark

Remember, head light bucket can be adjusted by a bolt that will set the front hieght...the back can be adjusted up and down a little by loosening the hinge portion of the fixture (three bolts on the inside and two in the front fenders). Mark

Last night I made some adjustments to the hood and light bucket.Looks better that it did to me. The top left cover is more flush to the hood and the left front corner of the hood is also more flush.I will next work with the bumper and eyebrow. before
after
