Black forest repair shop?

Does anyone have an opinion about this Porsche repair shop in San Diego?

Thanks

Jon

John and the crew do the major work on our 1987 Turbo, our daughter's 1974 914 and my race 914. We have used them for about 5 years or so and have been happy. Their master mechanic did out turbo engine last winter and it performs great and they did the engine in the race car. But, as with anything, I would shop around, there are several really good shops in San Diego and we are very lucky to have them to choose from as some people that post on here are lucky to find any mechanic to work on their 914. You might like the location, people, service, etc, somewhere else although price is pretty close at most places as far as labor I think. Additionally, the several good shops all do race prep, corner balancing, race tire mounting and can work on most all models and years. There are a couple of places that are just about race only though. When you make a choice, I would stick with them as that builds a trust that is nice with something as special as our 914's.

Thanks for the information! Its good to know I made a wise choice for a change by taking my 2.0 rebuild there. I was just a little leary because they just seem too darn nice.

Thanks!

Jon
