breaking in a '73 2.0L, any advise

Hey all, I'm rebuilding a '73 2.0L to stock with euro pistons and lightened flywheel. Is there a factory breakin procedure??

The manual says no lugging the engine, web-cam says run it a ~2K rpm for the first 15min. I'll drain the oil after the cam break in. What else??

thanks Ian

Check Tom Wilson's book "How to Rebuild Your VW Aircooled Engine" as he has a procedure to break-in an engine. The process is pretty simple, but includes some exercises to set the rings.
