Cool!

It's amazing how you "found" them! You're a genius!

Glad you are promoting your own product here on Pelican Part's website!

Maybe direct your items to the classified section. Try there, and 914.club. You prolly find more "buyers" there.

Well, a little spam never hurts IMO. A little honesty along with it would be nice though. Instead of saying "I found", say "I have". IMHO, that flys better here.

I spam on occasion, but I try to hide it a bit in a message... kinda like I did yesterday on the 911 board. I said I would be at Hershey selling my Airbrushed shirts. That way, people know I'm selling custom Porsche shirts with out it sounding too sneeky.

Just my $.02 (plus $1.95 spam)

(BTW, I'd like to see those shirts, can you post a link or something?)

Guys, guys, guys! We should really cut candlecarver (his eBay ID) a break. This is a small businessman trying to earn a few pennies. I would have to believe that he makes a minimal profit (if any) on each shirt he sells. The licensing fees that he pays to Porsche to use their logo on the shirts must be astronomical.

These are officially-licensed goods, aren’t they candlecarver? I’d hate to think that you would jeopardize Pelican Part’s business by using their BBS to promote goods that flagrantly violate trademark and copyright laws.

These are nice looking t-shirts. I ordered 2 shirts & 2 sweatshirts. I'm looking forward to getting them early next week. I don't know about the copyright stuff or if they are legal. If they aren't I hope I get my shirts before I find out. I say we cut the guy a little slack though guys. We live & learn. I don't think he really thought thru the I found the kool shirts & probably regrets it know. SO lets relax & give the guy a chance. His product looks good & he looks to be an enthusiest. Good luck with your shirts & your busiiness. I can't wait to get my shirts!

I'm not a frequent E-bay user and could not find the above shirts. Could anyone post the link? Thanks.

Go to E-bay and do a search on sellers. Type in "candlecarver" and you will see his auctions.

I agree that a little more honesty would have been better in this situation.

Porsche Crest I ordered some

I agree that Mike Ramsay (candlecarver) didn't help his cause with his small mis-direction (truthfully he just said that he had 'found' the shirts, much the same way I 'found' my post from yesterday.)

Mike; FYI I think the people here on this board prize a straightforward and direct person. Too many have been bilked by e-bay shillbidders, incompetent parts vendors and certain 914 experts from Atlanta and the experience has left a bitterness in our mouths. This board is a place where many of us have learned that we can trust each other and some may be a bit relentless in their zeal to drive away 'interlopers' that don't necessarily say what they mean. Many here are protective of our own small bit of sanity in a world of crooks and spammers. I don't think you meant anything by it, but telling us straight out that it was you that was offering those shirts would have garnered an almost universally positive response (and probably several orders!)

I ordered a couple of the shirts last week. They haven't come in yet, but at $11.95 for the t-shirts plus a reasonable shipping rate, they seem like a decent deal. If they are as represented (and I have no reason to believe otherwise) I'm looking forward to sporting them.

Good luck!

I could always use another Porsche shirt. The line work looks good, gut what about the quality of the shirt itself? I like heavy weight cotton, but a lot of the lesser expensive shirts are really thin. Can anyone tell me what he uses?

OK.I am the Fool who put the Porsche shirts on the forum for sale.I just have to say that i am sorry for the way i did it.Sometimes i get ahead of myself.I am just a working guy like most of you,who is tried of paying too much for anything with the name Porsche on it.Don't get me wrong.I really love my Porsche.I can't afford to pay $40.00 for a shirt. So i felt that someone had to make a statment and put out a good quality shirt with the design that a guy can put on his back and be proud of his car.I might have gone about it wrong by posting on the forum,But i can't take it back,Just say i'm sorry.Mike Ramsay

I ordered 2 in Ash before Christmas, and gave one as a warmly appreciated gift. Received them in no time flat; good service.

I'm not going to get all into the arguement about the "PORSCHE" copyright, since Porsche has pretty-much ignored/disowned the 914; if anything, they should be flattered.

I also don't see this guy getting rich on these T-shirts, either.

I hope that Mike earns a lot of $$$ so he can pay his lawyer. I have a stack of letters from Porsche's legal department - they are not an idle threat...

AS FOR THE REST OF YOU - SHAME ON YOU FOR POSTING INFORMATION THAT COULD JEOPARDIZE THE EXISTANCE OF THIS BBS.

Porsche watches this site very closely, and it they hit me with any cease and desist to shut down the BBS, I would not have the funds to fight it...

Geeze! As if Porsche doesn't have better things to do they have to make life miserable for those that enjoy their (Porsche's) cars and want to show them off by wearing them too. People like them have too much money and time on their hands with no feelings towards humanity. But, it is theirs along with their copyright so it's up to us to try to protect each other from their grasp.

Good post Wayne.
I had no Idea they were such ***********!.
But they sure made a great little car and I'm glad they did!

Wayne, I'm concerned that that could come to be somehow someday. But I looked in the FAQ's for info regarding using the name "porsche" in posts, referring to the company, aftermarket merchandise, even the use of the logo as a message icon and found no rules as to what flys and what doesn't. Most of us know that posters are not supposed to flame, incite (troll) or rant OT. But if this is a serious problem, as I surely understand it is (with VW as well; this has been discussed on Shop Talk Forums), then we need to know the rules. What does the factory and PCNA want, and more importantly, what do you want? I would suggest this info be posted as a sticky or an announcement so that it stays on top of each P-car (is that how we are supposed to say it?) BBS for a period of time sufficient for all members to read. Wayne, we don't want you tp shut down, you have the most sucessful boards of this nature on the Internet. No one worthy of being here wants to jeapordize that.
