Inspired
After visiting Ulf at JP's house and looking long and hard, here's what I've come up with after making lots of sawdust. I hate the casters I got (4"), so I'm off to the hardware store to get some shorter ones... they swing around too much for my taste... maybe I won't use casters at all, since I forgot to include them in my height measurments d'oh!
the whole thing is 31" tall without the small 2x4 blocks... On the other hand, I can now put in that 30" lift kit and scare the crap out of my neighbors Jeep ![]() Anyway, thanks for the inspiration, JP!

How do I get it waayyy up there? Right now, a 19" lift jack, 6x6's, 4x12's 8x16 cement blocks, and a 36"x16" scrap of 3/4 plywood... plus grunting a lot. I'm hoping to get one of these for my b-day: If I ever come into real $$$, I'll buy one of these: and use the stands I built as work tables!

I have about a half cord of blocking plus more plywood boxes.
Jack up one end bout a foot and block the sucker. Go to the other end and repeat. Add blocks to the jack pad.......run thru this a few times and there it is. I had help, last time and it took bout 15-20 minutes. By mesef' takes bout 45 min and I sweat. Disassembly is the reverse. Scott: You'd be hearing form my lawyer iff'n I had one of them slimeballs. Hay....puttin' needle brgs on the front suspenders. Got me one of Meullers kits. Cheep at half the price

That thing just looks scary to me. I had enough blocking and lifting taking a few engines out, then thanks to Ginter being a guinea pig, got a real lift to save my back and make more garage space.

Nah, just finishing off the holiday cheer before going back to my usual scotch... oh, and burning some mp3's of my old LP's... Tampa Bay? Nope. I'm a Cheesehead (switched after the Colts left Baltimore).
The car is actually *too* high, if you can believe that: I have to really stretch to get at it when on my creeper. Removing the casters dropped it 4", which put it at the perfect height.
