Porsche Crest Another one back on the road

After having shot an exhaust valve through my #4 piston at a time trial back in November, my '72 was sidelined. With James' (redbeard) and Mike's (Mike95125) help, Wednesday saw the car back on the road. Yee Haw!

Thanks a ton to James who showed up at my restaurant one night with a long block rattling around the back of his truck after he and Mike spent an afternoon yanking it out of his "spare" car and then went on to loan me a couple of much needed tools and the miscellaneous part I needed that I somehow managed to dick up when removing my motor. I also relied heavily on James' transmission rebuild article to give me the courage to tear apart my sideshifter while I was at it (ever say to yourself "I should take care of that while I have the motor out?") The tranny shifts great now and the motor is running strong.

My final thanks go to Tom and Wayne for providing this great forum for us to bounce ideas, mistakes and solutions off of each other. Not only did I get to sound out my questions here, I got to live out my sad addiction vicariously through all of you while I was trying to figure out how to get my wheels back under my butt.

Thanks everyone! Now I have to go drive around aimlessly for a while!

Porsche Crest A photo 4 U

Bruce;

Thought you might like to see why I used your "Dare to Dream" photo as my desktop ('til my wife complained of having to look at cars all the time.)

Porsche Crest It be mine...

Thanks Mike!

Perfect? No. But it has no rust and thanks to my friends (and lots of time spent on my back) it's running well. (That didn't come out right, did it?)

Clean on the outside and thanks to lots of little tweaks that aren't visible, very competetive in our PCA class. Many first in class wins last year.

Hey Herb, that makes me feel really good that you put the graphic on your desk top (for awhile)! I have fallen in love with my orange "Punkin". Didn't think I'd ever get an orange one... Yours is really nice.
I just put the same graphic (blew it up to 24 x 30) on my wall above my graphics painting table. Ya... I'm proud of that one.
