Size of trailing arm bolt?
 

I discovered some play in my right rear trailing arm, at the suspention 'ear" I want to try to tighten up the bolt to see if that helps out. What is the size of it? I will have to buy a wrench, I already know I dont have one that will fit. Thanks, chris

chris, its either 21 or 22, cant remember. Mine are all off, and need replacing. Afterall, they are a self locking, nylock, locknut. Or use some blue locktite.

But if you suspect its that nut, I would replace it w/ a new one, or back it off a bit and squeeze a dab o locktite on the shaft, then re-torq to 100 lb. (I think)

it's 22mm, just took them off a couple of days ago, the nut is a nylock type, surprisingly they weren't to hard to take off (the engine wasn't installed), be wary though, one of my trailing arms had a washer that seemed to be slightly undersized and took some real prying to get off, which screwed up the threads on the bolt/stud, the stupid thing is only the left one had the pain the butt washer

From my experiences, if it gets to the point of being loose

one other thing to check...

once they work loose the shaft tends to oval out the hole in the suspension ear...

I'm convinced that these only work loose due to flex in the entire console/ear... are you using the car on track...
prior to bracing my ears this nut would come loose every single day of track use...

the 2nd step is the ovaling of the hole
the 3rd step is that the console/ear rips....

the permanent solution is to brace the console.
