So I thought I started a thread, but I can't find it so...it must not have happened.

Earlier this year a friend and I bought a couple of 914's. Well actually he bought another too, but that is another story.

I thought I would post some of my work on here. Normally I run in the 911/930 forums, but I do like these little go cart like cars. The goal here was to find a good deal on a 914 that was not a complete basket case in the way of rust and get it on the road with minimal (think relatively for a 914) work.

We found a good/fair deal and the car is not a basket case. My buddy was going to do the motor work and I would work on the other stuff. I didn't take a lot of early pics of the car but here it is on my lift.

One of the first things done was pull the motor. I can get a 911 motor out in under two hours, but this took me a little long. I have never pulled a motor out of a 914. Pretty straight forward. I do like air cooled motors and not having the cooling lines.

This thing was covered in west Texas dust... It is everywhere.

I also took off this 916 bumper. It is not my thing.

There was evidence of a light hit at some point in the past. I am going to straighten some of it out and live with it. This is not a restoration, just some spruce up.

I cleaned up the edge a little with a body dolly and a couple body hammers.
