914 not running on its own

Hello my 914 only fires off carb cleaner I'm going to put a new fuel filter in it any other suggestions?

Start with the basics.. Is it getting:

1) Air?
2) Fuel?
3) Spark?

Is it injected or carbed? was it running fine recently or is it a project you are trying to get started?

How is the fuel supply? Olg Gas? Gummed up from Ethanol in the fuel? old lines? bad pump? bad filter?

You've ruled out air and spark. Need to know more about the fuel system. Djet? Ljet? Carbs? The troubleshooting methods are different.

Is there any way to tell other than looking at it....it's in storage right now so I'm not able to walk outside and see it and I honestly don't know the difference

Ways to tell? Find pictures? See if there is documentation anywhere?

Trying to troubleshoot a car without actually seeing the car is difficult. Trying to do so where there isn't anyone who can look at the car is basically impossible!!

Keegan, since you have access to the car take some photos of the engine compartment and post them. Folks are willing and able to help, but you have to provide information. Do that and you'll start getting some good ideas of what to check.

Yes I will share pictures next time I go I pulled the tank out and found that when I slid the tank back in after replacing the fuel lines we pinched one so it wasn't getting fuel but I bought a fuel filter to replace the old one
