Pulling the motor. Question(??)

Anything I need to know before pulling the 914 motor out?

How high does the 914 need to be off the ground in order for the motor to clear when sliding it under?

Oh, pics of my 914, about to get converted===> to a 13B Turbocharged rotary engine. More pics will be uploaded while the process starts..... to.... finishes.

Depends on what you'll be using to slide the motor/tranny out from under the car, but you'll likely need at least 24" of clearance between the floor and the rear valance. Check out the tech article on engine drops for tips and tricks (and SAFETY). Don't forget to remove the tranny ground strap!

Here's an article by LoanDog from page 2 of this bbs. It's one of the best I've seen!

Thanks for the nice compliment Bruce. Unfortunately, the link you listed is not for my article but one for the same method I use and has no pictures with it, as my article does. DD was kind enough to post a direct link to my article with pics:

http://www.porschepark.org/winner/m...ein2002-11pdf

The download takes a bit of time, but I think it's worth the few extra seconds to have the pics, especially for a first-timer.

Hey, no problem Bruce! I appreciate that you thought enough of my article to mention it. If anyone does use the link, the article starts on page 13 of the "Steinlifters" Magazine.

Hey Rez
I have no idea about the engine drop, but WHERE DID YOU GET THOSE SLICK DOOR PANELS??????????
Does anyone know where they're available, cost, etc? After seeing the pictures, I've determined that I can't live without them on my car.
Jeff
