Wrong way battery?
 

Hello All. I know this is a dumb question, but should the battery be negative or positive terminal to the front of the car? Stop laughing! I am putting the battery back in after some time, and having a heck of a time with the battery hold down clamp. No matter how I position it and screw in the bolt, it is not holding the base of the battery securely. Thank you for your reply.

Thank you, 76-914. And one more question, which direction should the wedge like battery hold down piece be facing? The wide edge with the lip facing downward or upward? I imagine anyway that works is fine, but I would like to have it “Correct”.

What kind of battery? I had to cut off some little nubs on the bottom of my red top
