priming the injectors
So tomorrow I plan on doing this. I have all my injectors out and thoroughtly cleaned.
I realize the fuel lines need to be pressurized. What I figure is to put all the injector in and connect all the hoses but do not hook up the power to them. I have the hose after the fourth injector lose so the fuel pump will pump out all the air out the end. Once I start getting gas flow, I tighten it up. That way I have gas going to all injectors. Then I hook the power lines to the injectors. Am I doing this right or not? Do I have to worry about doing this at all? Any advice would be appreciated....Thanks, Jason |
Don't worry about it. If you want to be sure, turn the key from "off" to "on", wait 2 seconds, turn it off again. Repeat a couple of times, and the high-pressure loop of the fuel system should be full. It's not that much volume, and the pump puts out quite a bit even in the ~1.5 second priming pulse.
Air will get purged out the fuel pressure regulator and pushed back into the tank. No problem. --DD |
Dave, thanks again.
