I know maf914 lists Savannah a his home so I'm sure he'll chime in. Im in Charlotte NC but my inlaws live out on Wilmington Island so we go out to visit them fairly often. I'm planning on making at least 1 trip out there in the 914 this year. Amelia Island Concours is coming up next month, and I'll be picking up my father in law there.

I am in Savannah and I live on Wilmington Island. There are a couple of other 914's in the area. One fellow has an LE Bumblebee and is active in the PCA. The other, who I don't know, has a butterscotch colored car.
"Columbia is only 59 minutes from Savannah." Yeah, if you're driving a 962! I just drove there last weekend and it took a little less than 2.5 hrs each way driving 70-80 mph. So a 962 at 160-180 mph should be able to cut that in half! LOL! I also plan on going to the Amelia Island Concours next month. I know the main theme is Corvettes, but Jim Hall and his Chaparrals are supposed to be there, and I have to see those cars! Can't wait! Then there is Sebring March 15. There are 65 entries. A great field. I ordered tickets last week. Mike |

Take that map your reading and burn it! It is at least an hour and
a half to hilton head from wilmington island. I live in Hardeeville,SC and it takes a good hour to drive to hilton head with the traffic. There are too many tourists and half-backs there. (The half-backs are all the old yanks that moved to Florida and decided it was too damn hot so they moved HALFWAY BACK! ![]() I have also come to the conclusion that OHIO must send all their bad drivers to Hilton Head! |

It takes us a minimum of 3.5 hours to get from Charlotte to Savannah. Columbia is a bit less than 1.5 hours from us on the way. So plan on a 2 hour trip minimum, with the I-26 leg being a bit over 1/3 of the way.
maf, did you get a PM from me?
