Redesigned VDO gauge cluster
 

I mocked up a redesigned gauge cluster using the VDO Vision gauge line. These gauges have fiber optic needles and backlit faces.

The speedo is electric and would require an adapter to convert the mechanical cable output to an electrical signal. It does have an LCD tripometer.

You would lose all your idiot lights, but those can be installed with lamp panels.

Gauges are also smaller than stock.

What do you think?

It could probably be built for around $500.00

As much as I despise these people, 9xAuto has done something similar with Autometer gauges.

Autometer does make a converter for the speedo as well. By my figurin', this package (including the cluster panel) should also run you less than $500.
