Strange fuel injector?
I've got a strange fuel injector on my car. It is green in color but the only identification on it is the word "RAM". Anyone have info on this?
I've got 3 different injectors on my car. (2) 038's from a '75-'76 2.0L cyl. #1 & #2 (1) 019 from a '73-'74 2.0L cyl. #3 (1) RAM - unknown origin Cyl. #4 What's a good way of testing these injectors to make sure they are putting out the same amount of fuel? Right now my entire fuel injection system is out of the car, except for the fuel pump. |

i don't know what the markings mean. but to test the output of your injectors is pretty simple with the aid of one or two friends. simply remove the injectors from the engine and place them into 4 equally sized test tubes ( or clear film canisters, whatever as long as they are all the same size) disconnect the coil and remove any other source of spark. while holding all the injectors in the tubes have a friend roll the engine over for 15 -20 seconds, or until a fair amount of fuel is in the tubes. check the levels, if they are all even then they are all flowing the same. if not clean them using carb cleaner and retry. i forgot to mention that you sould mark the tube to correspond to the proper cyl. so that you can diagnose any problems.
hope this helps, Matt |

RAM is an FI rebuilder. Do a flow test as suggested to verify they're all the same.

OK, I'll do it that way. I was just wondering if there was a better way, not counting paying to have it done, since I had the stuff out of the car. I've saved four small baby jars a while back just for this purpose.
Thanks guys. |
